Chocolate and Super foods smoothie

You know that feeling of satisfaction you get when you’ve eaten something really delicious and at the same time really nutritious…?! Well, you are going to have it with every sip of this bad ass smoothie! Promise! So much goodness in one glass! Let’s see:

Spinach: often recognized as one of the functional foods for its health benefiting nutritional, antioxidants and anti-cancer composition. It’s loaded with iron, vitamins A, C, K, good amounts of many B-complex vitamins and minerals like potassium, manganese, magnesium, copper and zinc. Also a great source of plant based protein. 

Avocado:  a good source of important nutrient benefits, including potassium, vitamin K, vitamin E, fiber, magnesium, and monounsaturated fat.

Hemp powder: packed with plant based protein and omega 3 and 6 fats and fiber, as well as minerals and antioxidants.

Maca powder: a good source of vitamins and minerals such as calcium, magnesium, iron, Vitamin C, B1, B2, B6, and B12. It is said that the Inkas used to consume it before battle to give them energy and endurance.

Moringa powder: made from the naturally dried leaf of the Moringa Tree, moringa powder is one of the most nutrient-dense raw whole foods on the planet. It is a rich source of protein, fibre, iron and vitamins A and K and a source of vitamin E, calcium and magnesium

Cacao: rich in iron, magnesium, antioxidants and also a mood elevator and natural antidepressant.

Tahini and fruits smoothie

What do you do when you love tahini sooo much that you want to add it in every meal?! You do just that! I find it very versatile, you can use it in your smoothies, in your salads, sandwiches, cakes, cookies!

This smoothie is delicious and the tahini really gives it its edge! Tahini is a great protein source, high in amino acids and healthy fats and a great source of vitamins and minerals.

Mulberry Lemony smoothie

I know it is a bit of a cliche, but it is really all about the small and simple things in life!! For example, this morning i discovered how amazingly delicious mulberries are with lemon!!

It’s the season of fresh mulberries now and I am going through my mulberry frenzy phase! Hence this week’s posts are all about mulberries!

Confession: i did not know about these little gems – likely a chef friend of mine taught me everything i needed to know!

I usually don’t write long prologues, but just a couple of words on mulberries: highly antioxidant and a great source of vitamins (A,C,E, K and B compex) and minerals (iron,potassium, manganese, and magnesium) essential to good health.

Maca, Hemp seeds and Cacao energy balls

These little energy bombs are just delicious! They are such a comforting delight early afternoon when you are craving for something sweet, yet healthy and as guilt free as possible. The maca and cacao give you energy, whilst the nut butter and hemp powder give you a nice protein boost! This makes them ideal as a pre or post workout snack as well!

Fruity Green smoothie

‘Eat your veggies please’ ‘Eat your fruit please’. These words still echo in my head!! I remember back then I really really didn’t want my veggies and rarely ate my fruit! 

Now days, I get so excited with coming up with recipes with as many greens and fruits as possible! This smoothie has spinach, kale, mango and pineapple – so bursting with flavour and vitamins C, K, A, B2 and B6, magnesium, protein, amongst other!
